The Chamber of Commerce is an association of member companies,
civic and professional organizations, trade associations,
and leaders in the business community. Each state and city
has a Chamber of Commerce office. Contact the Chamber of Commerce
in your city and where you will attend school, and ask if
they have a members and/or scholarship directory. Once you
obtain a listing of its members, contact each business and
organization, and ask if their organization offer scholarships
or grants for students furthering their education and if so,
ask for an application. Many local businesses and organizations
offer small scholarships to students in their community. There
are also Chamber of Commerce for ethnic communities such as
African-American, etc. Many of their scholarships are not
publized; you will be surprised as to what scholarships are
available.
Visit your state and city’s Chamber of Commerce web
sites and browse them for any scholarship information. The
US
Chamber of Commerce has an online directory for each state.
Within each state, there is a listing of each city with links
to local Chamber of Commerce offices. Remember, the Chamber
of Commerce is a networking community and there is always
someone who knows someone. So Network!
