If you are currently in high school take the Preliminary SAT
(PSAT) or ACT (PACT) exam. The reason for taking these practice
exams are to possibly increase your test scores and prepare
you for the actual exam. Most schools and some scholarship
sponsors will require that you take one of these exams. The
higher your test scores, you increase your chances of being
selected for admission to a school of your choice and receiving
merit-based aid (link). Therefore, it would be in your best
interest to study and take the practice exams to receive the
highest score, the first time taking the exam.
