Once you receive the scholarship application, it is very important
to read and follow all instructions. If you have any questions,
do not hesitate to call the scholarship provider. Failure
to follow instructions and/or submit the supporting documents
may disqualify your application. Remember, each scholarship
has its own set of rules and deadline date, so follow the
instructions, carefully.
After you have read all the instructions, you should make
several copies of the original application to use as drafts.
Place the original application in its scholarship folder to
keep it neat and clean. If you completed The
Scholarship Workbook, you should refer to
it to help you complete the draft application.
It may take you several drafts to complete it, until it is
accurate and free from spelling and grammatical errors. When
your final draft application is complete, transfer your information
correctly to the original scholarship application.
Completing Online Application
An online application can be competed and submitted via the
Internet. Before complete the online application, you should
print a hard copy as a draft application. After printing the
application, bookmark the scholarship provider's Web site,
so you can easily return to it when you are ready to submit
the online application. Once you have completed the draft
application with no spelling or grammatical errors, return
to the scholarship provider’s web site. Refer to your
print copy, carefully type your answers into every blank provided
in the electronic application form.
After you finish, take the time to read over your answers
before clicking the ‘Submit’ button. Make sure
that you have not committed any mistakes or errors (i.e. grammar,
punctuation, and spelling errors) and that you have completely
answered every question. Then print a copy of the application
with your answers for your records. Only when you have done
all of those things should you submit the online application.
