A scholarship resume is your SALES TOOL. It is slightly different
than a job resume. The major focus of a scholarship resume
is your education, extracurricular activities, achievements,
awards and honors. A job resume basically focuses on your
work experiences and skills. Do not use a job resume when
applying for a scholarship.
Your scholarship resume should be tailored to the type of
scholarship for which you are applying. Remember, your resume
should be detailed enough to provide the scholarship committee
with specific information to assess your qualifications. The
scholarship committee will SKIM, not read, your resume. The
resume needs to be concise and contain only pertinent information,
which will get the scholarship committee’s attention.
