Professional Organizations, Associations, and Labor
Unions
Various professional organizations, associations, and labor
unions offer financial assistance to members and their children.
Many of these organizations offer scholarships that are not
well publicized, which are usually less than $1000. You will
be surprised as to what scholarships are available. You should
consider contacting professional and social organizations
that you or your parents are members.
You should also research organizations that represent your
career field or profession, and call them to inquire about
any scholarships offered to students. Some organizations require
scholarship applicants to be members, if it is a requirement
then join (if interested).
Church/Religious Organizations
Churches and religious affiliated organizations offer scholarships
to its members, and students in their community. Contact your
church or a church in your community for additional information.
